Curricula
Built for Ghana and the United States.
Setup asks which system your school runs, and the year, the classes and the grading defaults arrive shaped for it rather than renamed afterwards. A school whose model fits neither gets its own.
A basic school runs three terms. A college runs two semesters, and the year states which.
Quarters, semesters, or a calendar you configure. The structure is yours and the reporting stays consistent.
You state how many terms the year has and what each is called. Everything else hangs from that statement.
What seeded means
The year arrives shaped, not empty.
Three things are written into a new school before anyone enters a mark. Each of them is yours to rename, merge or remove.
The year and its terms
Three terms for a basic school, two semesters for a college, quarters or semesters for a school that runs them. The names are the ones the system uses.
Classes and subjects
A starting set of classes and the subjects the year offers, ready to rename or remove. Never a fixed catalogue a school has to work around.
Grading defaults
Categories, weights and the precision a mark is reported at, per subject. The school decides these; the system computes with what it was given.
Setup
Four questions, then the year exists.
The application asks for what it cannot infer, and nothing else. Once these four are answered, the rest of the term is data entry.
Which curriculum do you run?
Ghana, the United States, or a structure of your own. This shapes the year that follows.
What is the year, and what are its terms?
The dates, the number of terms and their names. Everything else hangs from this statement.
What classes and subjects does it offer?
A seeded starting set that is yours to rename, merge or remove before the first mark is entered.
How does a mark become a result?
The categories, their weights, the precision and the rounding. Stated once per subject and term.
